Evolution. A new theory of evolution based on our modern understanding of computation and genetics. Special emphasis on implications for societal evolution.

Course Description

We will take a novel look at Darwin’s theory of evolution. We will refine Darwin’s original theory and place it on a more rigorous foundation. We will see that this refined theory applies to far more than biology. For example, it applies to the evolution of societies as well. The result is a view of societies, their origins and evolution, and the role of humans within them which is, as best I can discern, far different from those currently in the literature, including, those considered by social scientists. Ideally those attending the class will leave it with a view of society and their place in it that is strikingly different from the one with which they entered.
